This document describes the processing of personal data of customers and potential customers of Eevian and companies belonging to the same corporate group (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Eevian").

The privacy statement applies to personal data provided in connection with the use of the website www.eevian.fi as well as personal data that the data subject has provided to Eevian in other contexts (e.g., when visiting an Eevian store) or that Eevian has obtained from publicly available sources.

Websites of other third parties that may be accessed through links on the site operate in accordance with the privacy and cookie statements provided by the respective page administrators. Users are encouraged to read these statements before using third-party websites.

1. Data Controller and Contact Person

Eevian Store Oy (3559807-3), whose registered office is located at Wahlforssinkatu 7-9, 80100 Joensuu.

Additionally, the data controllers are Eevian Store Oy (3559807-3) to the extent that it has determined the purpose and means of processing personal data and processes the personal data you provide in its own operations. The aforementioned data controllers may also act as joint data controllers.

2. Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

Personal data is collected and processed for the following purposes:

(1) To provide and implement Eevian products and services and to respond to requests made. Additionally, we use personal data for other communications with our customers and partners.

(2) For marketing purposes by sending newsletters and/or commercial offers or information about Eevian products and services via email, text message, or regular mail (if the user provides their address).

Processing may refer to one or more of the following operations: collection, storage, organization, registration, examination, statistical analysis, analysis, retention, processing, modification, selection, use, or deletion of data.

The processing of personal data is based on the fact that the data subject has given their consent to the processing of personal data when registering for Eevian services. Providing data is voluntary, but it is a prerequisite for purchasing Eevian products and using services.

Additionally, providing necessary data marked as essential during the contact request phase (e.g., contact information, requester's name, date of birth, and email address) is required if the user expects a response to their message. Depending on the requests sent by the user, Eevian may also require additional information. Providing this additional information is voluntary, but if it is not provided, Eevian may find it difficult or impossible to respond to the user's requests.

If the user wishes to subscribe to the newsletter and/or receive commercial communications, providing an email address is necessary.

Providing user data through the website occurs by filling out the contact form with the requested user information. Data may also be provided for purchasing products, using services, and making contracts when visiting an Eevian store, during phone conversations, in connection with online shopping, or via email.

If the user has given consent for their data to be processed for marketing purposes, such data may also be processed for conducting statistics, opinion, and market research related to Eevian services.

In addition to the above, Eevian may use publicly available sources to acquire personal data for acquiring new customers. In this case, the categories of personal data include name, phone number, and email address, and the legal basis is the legitimate interest of the data controller (Article 6, paragraph f). Eevian believes it has a legitimate interest in using personal data available from public sources in its business and marketing of products to secure its competitiveness in its industry.

3. Recipients of Personal Data

The personal data provided by the user related to the services of the aforementioned site is automatically stored in a system maintained by Eevian. Information provided by phone, orally, or via email is stored in the Eevian system by a designated employee.

To fulfill the aforementioned purposes, the data is processed by Eevian's administrative and commercial staff as well as companies and their personnel that provide data processing and other services to Eevian (e.g., entities providing electronic marketing, website maintenance, and management services). Eevian has entered into a data processing agreement with external processors as required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Additionally, Eevian may disclose data to its partners if the execution of the service used by the customer or the contract made requires it. Furthermore, Eevian may disclose personal data to authorities, financial institutions, and insurance companies, all of which are bound by legal confidentiality obligations.

Received and processed data will not be disclosed to third parties, except for data that cannot be linked to an individual or if the disclosure is based on law or a directive from an authority. Additionally, data may be processed and may transfer in connection with corporate restructuring (such as business transfer, merger, or division).

Personal data is kept confidential, protected by passwords and necessary technical measures on Eevian's or its service provider's server. Personal data is processed confidentially and only by those employees whose job it is to do so and who are committed to complying with confidentiality regulations and Eevian's required data protection procedures.

Some of the cloud services we use are located outside the EEA. By giving consent to the processing of personal data (e.g., in connection with the use of our services), the data subject gives explicit consent for their personal data to be processed by companies operating in the United States, including Shopify and Google.

By giving consent, the data subject is aware that the transfer outside the EEA may pose risks to the data subjects due to the lack of an EU decision on the adequacy of the level of data protection and the absence of appropriate safeguards.

4. Data Security

Eevian processes the personal data you provide with sufficient and up-to-date technical and organizational protective measures. Eevian's aim is to minimize the risks of data destruction, loss, unauthorized processing, access, or processing that deviates from the stated purposes. However, users should be aware that there are always data protection risks associated with using the internet, and complete data security cannot be guaranteed.

5. Additional Information/ Rights of the Data Subject

The retention period for the data of individuals registered for Eevian services is determined according to their purpose of use. If the provision of data through the site leads to a contractual relationship with Eevian and the use of its services, the applicable legislation (such as accounting law) will apply to the retention of personal data in these cases. Eevian's products are unique and intended for long-term use. Therefore, Eevian retains data related to purchase transactions for the duration of the estimated product lifespan.

The data subject has the right to request access to their personal data as well as the right to request rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and the right to transfer data to another system by sending an email request to the email address provided below.

The data subject has the right to withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data, but this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal of consent. The data subject may also separately object to the use of their data for direct marketing, which does not affect the use of Eevian services otherwise.


Providing personal data is not based on a legal requirement. However, providing the information requested in the Eevian system/service is a prerequisite for entering into a contract with Eevian and using the service. The provided data may also be used for automated processing and decision-making, such as profiling. The data subject has the right to object to the use of personal data for automated decision-making at any time.

6. Information on Internet Use – Cookies

Information on Internet use

The information systems and programs used for the operation of the site collect certain personal data that is transmitted as part of internet data transfer protocols. Such data includes, for example, the IP or domain addresses of the computers of users visiting the site, the URI addresses (Uniform Resource Identifier) of requested resources. Additionally, information systems and programs may collect data on request times, request methods, sizes of files received in response, status codes clarifying the server's response (ready, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user's operating system and network.

This data is not collected or used to identify the user, but due to its nature, it may be possible to identify the user by processing and combining this data with information managed by third parties.

Eevian uses this data solely for anonymous statistical purposes regarding the use of the site and to ensure the proper functioning of the site.

This data may also be used to investigate security or other crimes related to the site. In cases other than those related to crime investigation, the contact information related to the site will be deleted immediately after processing or at the latest within seven days.

Cookies

In some cases, Eevian collects personal data using various techniques, including cookies. Cookies consist of data sent to the browser of the site (which may be your own browser). This information can be stored on a computer (which may be your own computer) with identifiers that can identify the computer but not the user.

We may use cookies to develop our services and website, analyze website usage, and target and optimize marketing. The aim is to enable the operation of the site and improve its usability as well as to study the use of the site statistically.
